1. H20 Hostel
H20 is located right next to the Ljubljanica river, with an absolutely beautiful view on it as well. Only a short walk away from the main (Preseren) square, this hostel also provides an option to rent out bikes if you feel like going sightseeing with a faster pace. The hostel itself is also surrounded by things to do in Ljubljana at night-from Shooters Club, to small bars along the river and countless finger-food places open until late mornings.
2. Hostel Tresor
Before opening the doors as a hostel, Tresor was a bank. Unique like none other, this hostel is THE closest one to Preseren square and other hotspots you might be interested in. It’s also worth mentioning that it’s included into “Unusual and Unique Hotels of the World”. It’s really handy that reception works 24/7, which is especially good if you’re out partying and you get home late. The rooms are equipped with wifi and there’s even a small bar in the lobby! For the late evenings, young people usually hang out in the cellar, where there used to be the bank’s vault. In the summer, if you don’t see the hostel immediately, you can hear it literally! As there are often street artists in front of it, performing in exchange for a free stay.
3. Celica Hostel
Used to be a prison, now re-modelled into one of the top hostels in Ljubljana you can find. Being quite noticeable due to it’s colourful facade, the infamous Metelkova street, being known for it’s Ljubljana party scene, is right around the corner of the hostel. It’s where most young people and tourists hang out, when they go out for drinks. The rooms are designed as prison cells, to honour their past and give you a feel for the place.
4. Vila Veselova
You know the warm feeling when visiting your granny? That is exactly what Vila Veselova hostel provides-it’s a huge villa, with multiple large living rooms and a garden, full of young travelers hanging out and chatting. People usually meet up in the evenings, talking to each other and playing board games, before heading out to experience the Ljubljana nightlife with the friends they just made. A huge plus is also the free breakfast, where everyone hangs out when listening to some chill music. In summer, you’re sure to run into some people chilling in the garden area, where you can find out a lot of open-events as well.
